Unai Emery will contest his sixth European final on Wednesday in Bakú, Azerbaijan. Emery’s Sevilla team played in three Europa League finals, in 2014, 2015 and 2016, winning all three. His Sevilla side also played in two European Super Cup finals in 2014 and 2015, against Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Wednesday’s final against Chelsea will therefore be Unai Emery’s fourth Europa League final, and he has the chance to become the only man to have won the competition four times.

Sevilla’s three consecutive UEL final victories were characterised by the team’s tactical and mental strength. The Andalusian side beat Benifa to win the 2014 final in Turin in a tight game which was decided on penalties. The 2015 final saw them run out comfortable winners against Ukrainan side Dnipro, and Emery became the coach with the most Europa League titles to his name after defeating Klopp’s Liverpool in the 2016 final.
