Arsenal were back in Premier League action in a London derby against West Ham United in the early Saturday kick-off.

The match began with Unai Emery’s side very much on the attack, creating various chances in the opening 20 minutes. Alex Lacazette was particularly active, on and off the ball, and the team were well positioned. However, the home side grew into the game and had chances of their own, but the half ended goalless.

The second half started in the worst possible way, with Rice scoring for West Ham on the 48th minute. Unai Emery made changes, bringing on Lucas Torreira and Aaron Ramsey, and his team created chances to score. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was unable to convert a chance laid on by Sead Kolasinac, and Alex Iwobi couldn’t find the target after a lovely team move and clever Ramsey flick.

The game ended in a 1-0 loss, Arsenal will now focus on the next Premier League challenge against Chelsea at Emirates Stadium.
