Arsenal’s last stop on the tour of the USA saw them face Real Madrid at the FedExField in Washington DC.
Unai Emery’s side took an early lead through Lacazette’s penalty after a Nacho handball in the tenth minute. Arsenal were on top for most of the first half and Aubameyang doubled the Gunners’ lead in the 24th minute after being played through by his French strike partner. Unfortunately, Sokratis was awarded a second yellow card in the 40th for a seemingly innocent collision. Bale got one back for the Spanish team in the 57th minute, and two minutes later Asensio levelled the score. Arsenal had chances to grab a winner but the score remained 2-2 at full-time was decided on penalties. Real Madrid won the shoot-out 3-2.
Arsenal now travel back to London where they will take on Lyon at Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
