Unai Emery’s Arsenal were at home in the second match of the UEL group stage against Standard Liege. After a three-nil away win in the first match away at Frankfurt, the Gunners were looking to make it 6 points out of 6 in Group F.

Arsenal got straight down to business and opened the scoring after just 13 minutes. Kieran Tierney whipped a perfectly placed cross into the near post and Gabriel Martinelli directed his unstoppable header past the ‘keeper. And the Brazilian striker bagged a second brace of the season just two minutes later, with a calm finish after a slick passing move from the Gunners. Six minutes after that, Arsenal made in three when Reiss Nelson’s half-blocked shot fell to Joe Willock, who slotted his chance home in the bottom corner. Unai Emery’s side got the fourth and final goal of the game in the 57th minute. Martinelli latched onto a ball in the box lifted it over the goalkeeper; Dani Ceballos timed his run perfectly and stretched his boot out to knock it in over the line. Hector Bellerín came close to celebrating his first start after long-term injury with a goal, but his effort flew just wide of the top right angle. The match ended in a 4-0 win for Arsenal.

The next challenge is in the Premier League on Sunday at Emirates Stadium vs AFC Bournemouth.
