Unai Emery’s Arsenal were back in action at Emirates Stadium, hosting Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The Gunners got off to the perfect start when Sokratis scored with a powerful volley from inside the box after a Pepe corner. David Luiz doubled the lead two minutes later after getting on the end of another Pepe corner that had been flicked on by Alexandre Lacazette. Luka Milivojevic got one back for Palace from the penalty spot after VAR had decided that Zaha had been brought down. The vistors drew level early in the second half when Jordan Ayew finished a James McArthur cross. After that blow, Arsenal responded well and pressed to find a winner. They thought they had it when Sokratis smashed in from another corner, but VAR ruled the goal out. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Arsenal now turn their attention to Wednesday’s Carabao Cup match against Liverpool.
