Arsenal came close to what would have been a deserved away draw in the Saturday evening derby against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The game couldn’t have started any worse for Unai Emery’s side, with the home team leading by two goals from Pedro and Morata after only 20 minutes. The Gunners reacted well, getting back into the match with goals from Mkhitaryan and Iwobi and coming close on several occasions before the break.
In the second half, both sides looked for the winner in an end to end game which saw chances coming thick and fast. Either side might have felt they deserved to get the winner; it was eventually Marcos Alonso who put Chelsea ahead in the 80th minute, leaving a final score of 3-2
