Unai Emery spoke to the media at the pre-match press conference for the Europa League semi-final second leg against Valencia CF.
The message is the same as in the first match. We know the tie is still in the balance, 50/50. We want to play to win, and if you want to win, you need to score. They are strong in defence but they also have to score. Our idea is to attack and defend well. We have to be ourselves, and we have to be able to control our emotions.
It’s special for me to come here, tomorrow I’ll do everything I can for my team. Valencia are a very big club with a lot of history. It won’t be an easy match. I am going to try to transmit to my players to enjoy it, to be focused and to take this experience like a positive in each moment and each minute and also to be thinking that we are playing for our supporters.
We began with two different ways to get into the Champions League. We wanted to go for the Europa League because it’s a trophy and we want to take every chance to win a trophy. And then it is also a second chance to qualify for the Champions League. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s match, I enjoy games like this one.
